For example, the mitochondria are organelles that produce energy for the cell, while the ribosomes are organelles that synthesize proteins.The Endoplasmic Reticulum
The endoplasmic reticulum, or ER, is a network of membranous tubes and sacs that is involved in the synthesis, processing, and transport of proteins and lipids. There are two types of ER: rough ER, which is studded with ribosomes and involved in protein synthesis, and smooth ER, which lacks ribosomes and is involved in lipid synthesis.The Golgi Apparatus
The Golgi apparatus is a stack of flattened membranous sacs that is involved in the processing and sorting of proteins and lipids. It receives molecules from the ER and modifies them before sending them to their final destination.The Lysosomes
