Dalam kesimpulannya, tujuan terbentuknya ASEAN adalah untuk meningkatkan kerjasama ekonomi, meningkatkan keamanan dan stabilitas di kawasan, memperkuat kerjasama sosial dan budaya, meningkatkan kerjasama di bidang lingkungan dan kesehatan, serta meningkatkan pengaruh di tingkat internasional. Dengan mencapai tujuan-tujuan ini, diharapkan kawasan Asia Tenggara dapat menjadi kawasan yang lebih stabil, maju, dan sejahtera di masa depan.
